Lauderdale County custody and booking route

For a current county-custody question or an existing county booking record, begin with the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department. The county identifies Sheriff Brian Kelley at the following address. The research did not verify a public online roster, recurring booking feed, jail-records hours, a sheriff fee schedule, or a guaranteed production schedule.

For a historic booking record or an existing releasable photograph, make a narrow Tennessee Public Records Act request after confirming the correct custodian. Identify the person, approximate date, arresting agency, and the particular record sought. Ask separately for non-exempt portions, the basis for any redaction or denial, and a fee estimate before chargeable copies. County custody and a city police report may be held by different offices.

City police and municipal record paths

Use the city agency when the question concerns that agency's arrest report, citation, or incident record. A city record request does not confirm that a person remains in county custody.

  • Ripley Police Department: 110 South Washington Street, Ripley, TN 38063; (731) 635-1515; records email ggriffin@cityofripleytn.com; fax (731) 635-8047. Ripley's policy says inspection is free, copies may be chargeable, and an estimate may be requested.
  • Halls Police Department: 102 South Front Street, Halls, TN 38040; (731) 836-1016. If a records custodian is not identified by the department, Halls Town Hall is at 208 North Church Street, (731) 836-9653, with listed Monday through Friday hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Henning Police Department: 105 South Main Street, Henning, TN 38041; (731) 738-5103. Henning Town Hall is at the same street address and can be reached at (731) 738-2991 for municipal routing.

State, court, and federal boundaries

The Tennessee Department of Correction FOIL search is for state offender custody or supervision. It is not a Lauderdale County booking roster and cannot establish every city arrest, pretrial detention, or local release. West Tennessee State Penitentiary in Henning is a state facility, not the Henning Police Department or Lauderdale County Jail.

For a later local case status or disposition, contact the appropriate Lauderdale County court clerk. The county courthouse is at 100 Court Square, Ripley, TN 38063, and the county main number is (731) 635-3500. Federal Bureau of Prisons and ICE locators concern only their respective custody systems. A result, or no result, in either system does not prove or disprove a Lauderdale County arrest.
